Dr. Rick Franklin is a local guy, with a blue collar upbringing, from Pryor, Ok. While in pursuit of his undergraduate education, Rick spent 6 years, mostly the warmer months, traveling to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, an Aleutian island 800 miles out, in the Bering Sea to work construction. You may have seen the the reality tv show “The Deadliest Catch“. It is largely filmed in and around Dutch Harbor.
It was during his time in the Navy that Dr. Franklin sparked his desire to travel. He enlisted immediately after graduation from Pryor High School and served four years in the Submarine Service as a Machinist Mate, where he received the National Defense Service Medal for service during national emergency (war time). His final duty station and honorable discharge came while serving aboard the USS Pintado, a fast attack Nuclear submarine out of Pearl Harbor, HI.
Dr. Franklin has been practicing Dentistry for 15 years since graduating from The University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. Immediately preceding dental school, Dr. Franklin attended both The University of Connecticut and Northeastern State University, receiving his bachelors in Biology and Finance. Dr. Franklin is a member of both The Oklahoma and American Dental Associations, as well as the International Team for lmplantology. He has received awards for excellence in endodontics (root canal therapy) as well as fixed and removable prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, and dentures). His experience in the realm of implantology comes from the placement of thousands of dental implants and multiple advanced education courses. Treatments provided range from simple single tooth implants to the more advanced full mouth rehabilitation.
Rick and his lovely wife of 22 years, Stephanie, have three children. Two sons, Kayden and Gabriel as well as a daughter, Saylor Ivy. Through the years they’ve enjoyed time together, on the lakes, on the slopes or traveling to any coast that promises a little fun in the sun. Rick and Stephanie are constantly training for a Marathon or an lronman somewhere. Mostly as an excuse to spend time together.
